• Keeping your ECU software up to date can in some cases, avoid any carbon building up at all
• Make sure that you have the oil in your engine changed regularly and only use good-quality synthetic oil if you’re topping it up yourself
• Filling up with high-octane fuel which burns hotter than the alternatives and so will burn away more of the carbon, leaving less to clog up your intake valve.
